LSS President/CEO Mark Peterson was featured on the KARE 11 TV show “Showcase Minnesota” on September 2. Host Corbin Seitz interviewed Mark about the Center for Changing Lives (CFCL), and was particularly interested in the green features of the building.

These green features include a reflective white roof, underground parking, environmentally safe paints and building materials, energy-saving indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures, and large rain gardens that keep runoff from going into the storm sewage system. The building is accessible from several major bus lines, and facilities for bike commuters have been integrated into the design.

The CFCL will be a LEED Certified building when completed. LEED Certification is a rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council that guides environmentally-sustainable construction.
